Sahara tamil dubbed movie download is a blog post on Sahara, the desert worlds orbiting the star of our sun. It is also about some other deserts on planets that orbit other stars in our galaxy and how they compare with the Earth's Sahara. The word "Sahara" originates from Arabic meaning "Empty Place". The origin of this name goes back to late 7th century, when Muslim pirates invaded North Africa and called its sandy coastline "the Great Desert". The word for desert in Arabic is pronounced as “sahra” and so it became El-Sahara El-Khadra. The English pronunciation was simplified to just "Saharan" around the 17th century. The 3,000 square miles of the Sahara has the lowest precipitation of any continent on Earth. It also has the highest concentration of dune fields. The 24-hour dune field at Madaoua in Mauritania is 191 square miles. The Sahara exhibits some similar characteristics to some other deserts on Earth including basin and range topography, aridity, and large dune fields. The Sahara Desert is truly vast, covering over one quarter of Africa's surface area making it the largest desert in Africa and one of the largest in the world. The Sahara stretches for over 1,700 miles along the western edge of the continent. The desert is nearly 1,000 miles long and 250 miles wide. The arid environment of the Sahara has caused it to go through glaciations three times during its geologic history. The last glaciation was about 18,000 years ago. This arid region is considered to be a success story in how humans have adapted to this harsh climate through the use of agriculture. As was mentioned earlier, over two thirds of the world's cereal crops are grown in this area due to its abundant amount of water and fertile soil. Indeed, the first successful rapid cereal cultivation was first attempted here in what is now the Sudan. The region was previously known as the "Green Sahara" or "North Sahara." The Saharan vegetation includes vast areas of grasses, sedges, shrubs, and small trees. There are also desert-adapted local varieties of tropical plants. These include acacia species which grow to be 200 feet tall with trunks eight feet in diameter that provide shelter for animals during times of drought. There are however large parts of the Sahara that have not been covered by any vegetation for thousands of years due to ancient dune-removal processes. The oldest dunes in the Sahara are 8,000 years old and cover around 150,000 square miles. The Sahara is so dry and barren that it is considered a true desert. This is because it has no surface water to flow or rain and it lacks any significant source of moisture so rainfall does not occur. The Sahara covers almost one quarter of the land area on the African continent and is the second largest desert after Antarctica. The Sahara completely covers all of Egypt to the north as well as Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and much of Mauritania as well as part of Mali to its north. cfa1e77820
